Imphal, June 18 2009:
It would be better for the Government and the public to extend co-operation and abolish the United Kuki Liberation Army (UKLA) which has been set up recently in violation of the ground rules of Suspension of Operation (SoO), information and publicity secretary of KLO/KLA Addy Kuki has stated.
Talking to some media-persons at the tactical headquarters of the outfit today, Addy Kuki clarified that KLO/KLA has no connection with UKLA which was set up recently under the leadership of one Lunpao Touthang alias TS William Kuki.
Apart from keeping two wives, Lunpao Touthang is a person who has been expelled from KLO/KLA on Dec 30, 2008 for violating the rules of armed outfit, Addy Kuki added.
Saying that UKLA has no operation area of its own, Addy Kuki further observed that since UKLA has been formed with the vested interest of harassing the public with monetary demand, it would be better on the part of the Govt and the public to extend co-operation and abolish UKLA while there is still time.
He also appealed to all the organisations in Manipur not to give shelter to any of the cadres of UKLA.
Public should also not entertain the monetary demand of UKLA, Addy Kuki said, adding that if they came across any UKLA cadres public should round them up and hand over to KLO/KLA or inform about it.
