The IV Kuki Nampi Consultative Convention held at Kuki Inn here on June 10 has unanimously resolved to uphold the Kuki Inpi traditional stand points, social harmony, peaceful co-existence and justice for all, in the light of the present State of affairs for public information.
While rejecting the United North Eastern Tribals Villages Authorities Council as it does not seek the necessary mandate of the Kuki Chiefs as a tribal entity, the Convention declared it is the handiwork of some section and hence non-entertainable.
After a meticulous study, the convention termed the ongoing political talks between Government of India and NSCN (I-M) as 'postive in certain media' and pointed out that the whole exercise aims at nothing sort of grabbing land at the expense of other community.
Such move would be rejected and not compromising under any circumtances, the convention declared.
Giving a strong warning to all the Kuki sons and daughters irrespective of their social-political organisations, NGOs.
etc to desist from purusing personal and sectarian interest and to shun airing of independent opinions repungant of the apex Kuki interest above all, the Convention declared that the sectional infight-ings, intimidation of general public should be shun and woek collectively toward envolving peace and tranquility within the Kuki community as well as with others.
The Convention also mandated C Doungel to conduct early and peaceful KIM election with active co-operation from the existing Inpi branches.
Necessary co-operation should b extended to him in larger Kuki interest, the Convention declared.
