Ralegan Sidhi (Near Pune), October 15 2011: Team Ana members, Arvind Kejriwal and Akhil Gogoi are set to land at Imphal on October 24 to get a first hand account of the humantarian crisis besetting the State.

Ana Hazare recommended their names today and assured to personally visit the state as and when required.

"If the situation worsens, I'll personally visit Manipur and do the needful to end the economic blockades by pressurising Prime Minister Manmohan Singh," Ana told a team from Manipur at his Ralegan Sidhi Ashram-cum-residence about 60 kilometers from Pune.

Kejriwal , who paid a one-day-visit to Pune to consult on various issues with Ana on Saturday, said he along with Gogoi will land in Manipur on October 24 .

"After assessing the prevailing situation in Manipur, we will furnish our report to Anaji for redressal ," Kejriwal said minutes before he left for Delhi.

The Sadar Hills Districthood Demand Committee ( SHDDC) has been imposing an economic blockade on NH-2 and NH-37 since August 1 demanding the creation of Sadar Hills district.

On the other hand, the United Naga Council (UNC) has also been calling a similar stir on the same routes to denounce the State Government's alleged bid to bifurcate Naga-dominated areas to create new districts.

"The crisis should be resolved at the earliest before the major festivals of the state �Ningol Chakouba, Diwali, Kut and Christmas," the anti corruption campaigner said.

Ana's commitment followed after Joint Director (Retd) of AIR BB Sharma (Regional News Unit, AIR, Imphal), social worker Jeevan A Ningthou , advocate Salam Rupachandra and another scribe gave a first-hand report on the Manipur situation to him.

While Sharma is the team leader, Jeevan is the coordinator.

The State team's visit was sponsored by Sarhad, a Pune-based NGO working for the betterment of the people of Border States.

Sarhad's founder president Sanjay Nahar and founder member Yuvaraj Shah said that they first raised the Manipur crisis a few days back to Anna after which the Gandhian immediately took up the matter.

"After Anaji assured to take up the matter, we requested the Manipur team to give an initial report on the current situation to both team Ana and Sarhad," Sanjay said adding that besides Kejriwal and Gogoi more members may also accompany them in their Manipur visit.
