New Delhi, November 06: Two Editors from Manipur namely Sh.

Gopal Sharma of Poknapham and Pradip Phanjoujam of Imphal Free Press are attending at the two-day Annual Economic Editors' Conference commencing from tomorrow at the Media Centre, Press Information Bureau, Shastri Bhavan here.

Union Finance Minister P.Chidambaram will inaugurate the conference tomorrow at 10.30 am.

About 300 editors and financial writers from all over the country will attend the conference.

There will be separate sessions with different ministers and senior officers participating in the conference.

The conference will enable economic editors and financial writers to interact with them and get a detailed background of the government's policies and programmes.

The mediapersons will also get a comprehensive view of the overall economic scenario in the country and latest initiatives and thrust areas of the government.

The conference will extend an opportunity to the government to get feedback from the economic editors.

On the first day, the mediapersons will interact with Minister of Finance, Minister of Overseas Indian Affairs, Minister of Steel, Chemical and Fertilizers and Planning Commission.

Union Secretary of Finance will accord reception of the mediapersons in the evening and a dinner hosted by the Finance Minister will follow it.

On the last day, the mediapersons will interact with Minister of Railways, Minister of Road Transport, Highways and Shipping, Minister of Agriculture, Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas and Minister of Textiles.

Union Secretary of Petroleum and Natural Gas will accord reception of the participants and a dinner hosted by the Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister will follow it.
