Imphal, December 02 2008: A 52-year old man who had gone chasing after a thief was clubbed to death by the thief.

The incident occurred on November 20 last in Kontha Khabam Makha Leikai under Heingang Police Station.

The victim has been identified as Thokchom Maniroton (52) .

He died at hospital on the same day.

Rifleman kills self: A Rifleman of 7th MR shot himself to death at Ukhrul on November 24 .

The deceased Rifleman identified as N Ingocha was an escort personnel of AE of PHED Veribam.

CRPF man found dead: A young CRPF personnel who was on sentry duty at the official bungalow of Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh was found dead in the early morning of November 28 .

The deceased CRPF personnel has been identified as Satish Dek (28) of Gayaganga in Darjeeling district of West Bengal.

Father-in-law beaten up to death: A father-in-law who had gone to call his daughter-in-law from her maternal home was beaten up to death by the infuriated family members of the woman.

The incident occurred on November 30 at Jiribam when 65-year old father-in-law identified as Louriyambam Amu of Khurkhul Sebok Leikai went to call her daughter-in-law who went back to her maternal home after a fight with her husband.

Bomb attacks: A hand grenade hurled by unidentified persons exploded at NRL Energy Station at Sagolband here at around 6 pm yesterday.

The hand grenade exploded near the counter of the oil pump.

Though no one was injured in the attack.

In protest against the attack, a Wakat Meepham was staged today.

In another incident, a unidentified gunmen exploded a hand grenade at the residence of one Md Hesamuddin at Keirao Litan Makhong in Imphal East district at around 7.50 pm yesterday.

Hesamuddin suffered injuries of bomb splinters on his hand in the attack though he is stated to be out of danger.

On the other hand, a another hand grenade was reportedly hurled by unidentified persons at the Lilong Chingkham residence of Md Salauddin who is a staff in the Engineering Cell of the Tribal Development Dept at around 7.50 pm of November 24.The hand grenade, however, did not went off.

On Nov 22, a hand grenade was also lobbed inside the complex of an oil pump at Sangaiprou.

But it did not exploded.

UG held: An activist of the proscribed PREPAK has been reportedly arrested along with one AK Rifles by a combined force of Police Commandos of Bishnupur District Police and personnel of 4/8 GR from Toubul Patpan during a search operation today.

The search operation started since early morning and continued till 8.30 am.

Along with the AK rifle, one magazine loaded with 9 live rounds of ammunition have also been recovered from arrestee.
