Taking a serious note of the killing of Achom Dolendro, an Operation Theatre Technician of Shija Hospitals and Research Institute on January 29, the Chairman cum Managing Director of the Institute, Dr Kh Palin has written to the Chief Minister to highlight the killing.
Stating that the management and staff of SHRI deeply condemn the incident, Dr Palin said that a condolence meeting was held on January 30 at 11.30 am at the conference hall of the hospital.
To condemn the killing all the employees of SHRI will wear black badges for five days, said Dr Palin and added that they share the grief and pain of the family members.
The management and staff of SHRI have also decided to contribute and extend financial help to the bereaved family members, added the submission to the Chief Minister.
Urging the Chief Minister to take up appropriate action so that the culprits are booked and penalised according to the law of the land, Dr Palin appealed for security to the personnel who have been rendering their selfless service to the people of the State.
Achom Dolendro was associated with SHRI for the last 10 years and during the long association, he was always soft spoken, well mannered and disciplined staff, asserted Dr Palin.
Irrespective of the time, whether it is day time or night time, Dolendro never shirked from his duty of serving the people of Manipur and the neighbouring States, added Dr Palin.
Laying down some suggestions for the Chief Minister to consider, the Managing Director of SHRI urged the street lighting be provided on all the roads leading to Shija Hospitals, Langol and to intensify regular frisking including patrolling to ensure the security and safety of not only the patients but also the patient party and staff.
The institute has also asked the individuals/group concerned to clarify the act.
