Imphal, February 15: Imphal East District police have busted a fake certificate racket and arrested two members of a gang in this connection today.

The arrested gang members are identified as Thounaojam Jugeshore Singh (51) s/o late Th Iboton Singh of Top Khongnangmakhong and Konsam Ibungobi Singh (56) s/o late K Ngouba Singh of Khurai Leikai Ipum Khongbal.

According to police source, the gang has been selling and making fake certificates of High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examination.

The arrested duo confessed that 30 such fake certificates have been sold out at the rate of Rs 4000 for first division and Rs 3000 for second division.

Other associates who were involved in the racket are yet to be arrested, the police source added.
