Imphal, September 15: Uncertainty prevails over fate of State athletes currently undergoing training in various sports disciplines at Khuman Lampak sports complex with employees� bodies all set to intensify their agitation from tomorrow onwards.

Cessation of regular coaching session is imminent as employees of Youth Affairs and Sports Department under the banner of Coordinating Committee of the Physical Education Teachers, Stadium Supervisors, Superintendents and Coaches� association of YAS Dept, Manipur have planned to take mass casual leave on September 16 and 17.About 1500 sportspersons are currently honing their skills on daily basis in preparation of forthcoming competitions.

Press source informed of the employees mulling indefinite cease work strike from September 21 in case of negative response to their demands.

The employees are protesting promotion of employees from youth Services who had no previous training on physical education or sports as Deputy Directors in charge of section concerning sports, training and coaching and physical education.

Another factor is employees allegation of administrative malfunction due to appointment of a junior coach as District Youth Affairs and Sports Officer in-charge.
