Bodies urge for reconciliation

Imphal, May 14: Strongly condemning the May 4 assault incident in Churachandpur district's Khumujamba Leikai, AMKIL, NIP-CO and Macha Leimai called for reconciliation of various communities instead of fanning hatred that could ruin peaceful co-existence in the multi-ethnic area.

Demanding that organization involved in the incident clarify on their conduct, a joint statement of the three bodies desired that community leaders settle the issue through negotiation by tracing the culprits as keeping the issue in wrap would only vitiate the situation bred suspicion towards one another.
