Imphal, March 21 2009: Lauding the resolution passed by the State Legislative Assembly to urge Government of India to affect hand over of the culprits involved to the State Government, the JAC Against the Brutal Killing of Dr Thingnam Kishan, Y Token and A Rajen has urged the Government to pursue its resolution vigorously.

A JAC release demanded that all political parties of the State, cutting across their differences should act accordingly to materialise the resolution passed in the State Assembly.

They should, at their own disposal, make a positive attempt to exert pressure on the Government of India without any delay.

The JAC would be compelled to intensify the ongoing agitation in case the State Government and the political parties fail to make any positive move within 48 hours, it cautioned.

The JAC is not surprised at failure of the NSCN (IM) to come up with a concrete appraisal within the deadline it set for itself, it said.

Noting that the deadline of 15 days (after March 4) was well over now, the JAC observed that the NSCN (IM) was still unable to make public of what they have been 'cooking up'.

"The JAC consider that it would be sheer waste of time to mention about the flip-flop act(s), which they have committed in the past, as far as their track record of 'promises' and 'judgment' are concerned", it observed.

Under the prevailing scenario, the JAC is constrained to demand to the NSCN (IM) to hand over the culprit to the Government within 48 hours, failing which the JAC with support of the masses, will proclaim the outfit as a terrorist organisation, it asserted.

Speaking to media persons this afternoon, JAC convenor Sapam Shubangkar decried the lack of any visible development all these days even as the State Government has handed over the murder case to CBI for investigation.

Observing that the State Government has kept reports of the judicial enquiry instituted against the individuals pulled up for giving shelter to the culprits involved in the triple murder under wraps, the JAC questioned whether the State Government has any hidden agenda.

Such attitude of the Government has only confounded the people, the convenor said.

The JAC also appealed to the people to get prepared for an agitation of far greater magnitude in the event of the failure to meet the demands raised.
