Imphal, August 17: In a major blow to the alleged nexus between politicians and militants, State police force arrested 12 UG suspects including a bailed out cadre during a raid carried out at the official quarters of a number of MLAs at Babupara today and recovered arms and ammunition as well.

Significantly all the MLAs belong to the Congress party.

Briefing the media, the DGP said that the operation started from 4 am and covered all the quarters of the VIPs including the residences of Ministers, MLAs and MPs.

The operation was eventually called off at about 8 pm today, said police sources.
