Imphal, April 13: Even as elected president of the MPP, L Borajao assumed office today, armed with the Court's order restraining O Joy and his men from entering the office complex, an ugly scene unfolded inside the office of the oldest regional political party in Manipur, when a team of Joy's supporters led by his sons tried to storm the office today. Cracking down on the situation, police arrested the three sons of O Joy and his wife.

Among others they have been booked under , �Obstruction to official duty.� They are still in custody.

Armed with the Court's order issued by the Civil Judge Junior Bench issued on April 10, elected president of the MPP L Borajao and general O Jugindro proceeded to the MPP office to assume charge today at about 10.30 am.

The office of the MPP was found locked at that time.

The supporters of L Borajao then proceeded to break open the locks and later entered the office.

Borajao and his men then proceeded to the first floor of the office building where the office of the president is located and after pulling down the name plate of former president O Joy occupied the office.

The locks of all the other rooms were also broken by Borajao's men but they left the office of MPP Legislature wing leader Dr Nimaichand Luwang untouched.

After Borajao had taken the chair of president, he started addressing a group of reporters on the move being taken up to unite all the regional political parties for the upcoming general election.

Even as Borajao was briefing the newsmen, a loud siren was heard coming towards the direction of the MPP office.

The vehicle with the siren then stopped in front of the office.

After some seconds it was established that Joy's sons had arrived and they soon made their way towards the office of the president.

At that moment, policemen posted at the gate of the MPP office did not move.

As Joy's sons made their way towards the office of the president, general secretary O Jugindro along with some other supporters bolted the door from inside, but the door was kicked open by Joy's sons and started assaulting them.

Jugindro suffered a cut near the eye brow.

Police then intervened and tried to pacify the sons of Joy and the other supporters explaining the order issued by the Court.

However Joy's supporters and sons countered saying, �If the Court says we should not be allowed inside then why are these fellows inside the office.

Tell them to get out and we will also do the same.� When the police further tried to intervene, the attackers turned against them and �Do you want to get involved.

Don't involve yourself in politics.� To control the situation the police then sought reinforcement and after a while a team of police commandos arrived at the office and herded the attackers outside.

Another team lead by the OC of City Police and the SDPO of Imphal West police also arrived.

Joy's sons who were then seated in their vehicles outside the MPP office were then picked up by the police team and taken away.

Joy's wife was also picked up by the police.

The sons of Joy have been named as O Deben, O Subash and O Brojendro.
