Imphal, February 13, 2010: Former president of MPP, Dr L Chandramani, who has been under medical care at Shija Hospitals in a critical condition, will be shifted to Apollo Hospital, New Delhi by air ambulance tomorrow.

Dr Chandramani was admitted to Shija Hospitals after he had a BP stroke since the last few days.

Even though it was planned to shift him to a hospital outside the state, he could not be transported to a normal flight owing to his critical state.

Concerned over the condition of the leader, MPP president, Dr Nimaichand Luwang is reported to have contacted doctors and experts of the Apollo Hospital, New Delhi.

As demanded by them, Dr Nimaichand also provided CT Scan of Dr Chandramani to the hospital for minute examination of his health status.

When the doctors expressed hope of having chances of recovery as per analysis of the CT Scan, Dr Nimaichand began consultation for shifting the former president by air ambulance, of which facility is available with the Apollo Hospital.

The fare of the air ambulance�Rs 8 lakh has been deposited with the authority of the Apollo Hospital.

During the air journey, medical care facilities will be provided to Dr Chandramani by doctors and nurses of the Apollo Hospital.

The air ambulance will take five hours to reach the hospital in New Delhi from Imphal Airport.

The ambulance will land at the Imphal Airport tomorrow morning at 7 am and will take Dr Chandramani straight to the hospital, he added.

Earlier, it was planned to shift him today itself, and everything was ready.

But since there is no facility for night landing at the Imphal Airport, the same was differed till tomorrow, Dr Nimaichand informed.
