Imphal, January 21:
The 32nd statehood day as usual was observed in Manipur.
The main function was held at First MR ground with O Ibobi, CM of Manipur and Ph Parijat, FCS minister as chief guest and president respectively.
The chief minister speaking on the occasion said Manipur became a full-fledged state of India on January 21, 1972.Since then, the state has been advancing in different fields however efforts for equalizing with other states which have already been advanced are lying over a developed state to the next generation.
He was of the view that violence has become a hindrance, in the developmental programmes so the government will welcome all suggestions for be coming Manipur a peaceful and more developed state.
Being a state of all communities and since we are Manipuris, Indians, we should try to bring normalcy and peaceful-life in the state.
He appealed to all militant organizations in Manipur to shun the path of violence and come to the negotiating table to bring a permanent solution to the vexed issue of insurgency.
Ibobi Singh said his government is ready to do the spade work if the militant groups want to hold talks with the centre in a third country.
He attributed lack of development in the state to the problem of insurgency.
Without peace, none can bring development and without development we will not be able to bring a happy life.
So it is very necessary to bring these.
Presiding over the function, the FCS minister Ph Parijat said, we should respect all those who took great roles for becoming Manipur a full-fledged state.
Although different communities having religions of their own exist in Manipur there is no question of enmity among various religions and groups.
In connection with the function, communities� prayer and presentation of national anthem by Manipur Rifles Band Party were also held.
