Redland's Republic of Rubble
Randhir Thiyam *
Who ordered midnight’s claws to crush the past?
Redland Rajbari — auctioned off at last.
A century’s pride erased in stealthy grace,
While power grinned behind a lawyer’s face.
The kings once ruled — now clerks decide their fate,
With stamps and silence polished by the State.
PDA, ACD — guardians or ghosts?
They sign the ruins, then raise a toast.
The Constitution sleeps on marble beds,
While bulldozers hum near decapitated heads.
They call it progress — we call it theft refined,
History’s corpse rebranded, “Modern Mind.”
O Shillong’s night, your soil still bleeds unseen —
Where kings are dust, and greed wears Gandhi green.
