Enough is Enough
Bandana Thokchom *
A tempest brews, in the heart of the land,
Maybe 3rd brutal truth, a haunting crowd.
Center's silence, goat's deaf ear,
A nation's cry, a people's tears.
Enough is enough, we rise, we speak.
We're not blind, to the hurt and pain,
Seen evidence, of violence, of stain.
Mob's cruel rage, a heartless might,
A state's shame, a people's plight.
Our hearts ache, our voices break.
Some say,
"Nurture vipers, in our bosoms fold",
But we'll say justice, for young and old.
We'll question, we'll protest, we'll make it loud,
Our liberty, our right, our voice, unbound.
We'll rise, we'll resist.
Play Duryodhana, in this era's game,
Why take Yudhisthira's path, with truth's noble Claim?
Take Dhanvir Kama's pride, if you must play a part.
But we'll choose love, compassion, and a beating heart.
For a future, where justice shines bright.
Recall a professor's morbid joke, a bitter truth,
"Missiles and bombs, to end the strife".
We laughed then, but now it's a haunting refrain,
A world free from hate, where virtues reign.
Through my poem, I'll ignite the spark.
A flame of change, a beacon in the dark.
Our hearts, our words, our poetic cry.
A call to action, a call to rise high.
