Decision

On the blue canvas, the bright yellow sun
Spreading rainbow and sunray
Smoky snow clouds swayin the air
The whole world seems to be gay.
Today I decided, decided to walk
On this very road, through the park
There is no rush or run
All my work and worry are at bay.
I then decided, decided to sit
On a red rusty chair by the lake
So many decisions, decisions we make.
Starlings sings in perfect unison, while
Laughter spreads as kids run around
Spreading joy as people say they do.
One of them fell right on its face
Another stretching out its hand
Helping the other stand back up
Did it change, change the decision I made?
People run around for different reasons
For health, figure, dogs and kids
They run towards their purpose
But what happens when there is none.
The bright yellow sun now turns red
I guess it’s time, time to leave
No more work for this spectator.
I come back, back to this place
The place from where I decided to walk
Everything set in its place, waiting for me
Yes, it was me, me who set it up.
I sat back down, on the same place
The same place where I decided
The same person staring back at me
Standing black and tall in its usual corner
But I don’t care about it anymore.
I slowly climbed up, up the red chair
And put the rope around my neck.
I then let the chair go, for the decision I made
The decision to at last free myself.
