A song of cessation
Gyanabati Konjengbam *
To the days when laughter surrounds you,
To the days when you sleep anytime,
To those days when you could cry out anywhere,
Moments full of euphoric reverie,
Would you come back again?
To the days when you learn the steps to dance,
To the days when you are lost in the windows of the fairy tales,
To those days full of overwhelming thoughts,
The essence of struggle at that time seemed the heaviest,
Yet the tinkling chime gives you a smile after a while.
To the days when you encounter the battle of reality and dreams,
To the days when you carry the load of survival,
To those days when you long for lullaby,
Eyes rest when you hear,
"Tha...Tha ...Thabungton..."
While you comprehend the process of growing,
The hand of the clock takes a cessation.
Things unfold on their own,
like the gathered bunch of clouds giving you the downpour.
