A Child I am
Moirangthem Prishika *
A child I am.
A child with two parents.
A child with a family.
A child filled with melancholy.
Sadness has consumed the child,
And turned her into a thorn.
A thorn no one wants.
A thorn that only causes pain.
Oh, what a child I have become.
For even roses fear their thorns,
And yet the thorn still bleeds.
Oh, what a child I have become.
One who no longer recognizes herself.
A child still cries.
With the thorn that never wished to hurt.
Oh, A child am I
Within the thorn bloom your flower.
To bloom is to love the thorns too.
