For quite a year back and more I have badly been addicted to the net. 32 continuous hrs was the record ever. The addiction as you will well guess is about searching victims of opposite sex on the net. I am a student studying outside and all my time and money was going in on the net and benefit goes to the cyber cafe business. Most of the student studying outside male or female has come across this phenomenon and the chatting on the e-pao.net is a solid prove of it. May be the website benefit from their visit and they in turn benefit from the information that you provide. Ironically this phenomenon has drained out 70% of the monthly salary from the parents of such students as me. More than 3000 students are studying outside from Manipur as a whole or let's assume it is less. How ever at the end it adds to the deteriorating economy of Manipur. Whatever that had been earned has been drained out. Now as we are aware of this fact lets us not discuss the problem further. Let's try to find the solution out. I haven't research on what I am about to say but it just came to me as an unusual idea. I was thinking if I have my own cyber cafe establish here and have to surf free and get the benefit from the customers as well. Well as I was thinking certain idea also begin to pop up. Why not I let my fellow Manipuris to surf for free and even let them earn some money while surfing. In other words I use them for some constructive job while they surf and pay them only for what they work for, be it 1 or 2 hrs depending on their efficiency. While on the other hand I let other non-Manipuris to surf as usual at the normal rate. Talking about the type of job I am sure that even you have such kind of job that a person online can do. Back Office Processing (BOP) has become a booming business here in main cities in the form of call centers. Even the MTNL has data entry jobs that a person online can do. Beside this if all the potential student who unfortunately waste lot of time and money on the net while studying can come together under such a project city wise in the form of organizations or clubs every where in India, I am sure it won't be a bad idea. While a head organization to manage and monitor the functioning of such organizations would be necessary. This may further provide more opportunity for more students and will also tie everyone under one idea, which would run the future of Manipur. While at the same time all the talent that our younger generation possesses may well become a great use (even from our MTV GENERATIONS). This may well pour in and mend our economy too. Many development programs can also be funded in Manipur. In fact the organization can act as a body that educates and provide opportunity for our fellow citizens.
If nothing will be done as about my idea by some constructive fellow man I will volunteer it myself.
