We are please to announce the winners of the recently held 'FungaWari Writing' contest.

2.	Second Prize Rs 6000/-	Yumnam Vedajit Singh from for Khongang Pheidekpi for "Apanba - The Godson"
		Tayenjam BijoyKumar Singh from Keishamthong Top Leirak for "Konthoujam Tampha Lairembi"
3.	Third Prize Rs 4000/-	Bhabendra Longjamba from Kongba Bazar for "Kabui Keioiba"
		Sanjoy Mutum From Tera Sayang Leirak for "Keibu Keiyoiba"

Karen Chinglen Kom from Dewlaland Imphal for the Kom fungawari " Rengchanghoi"

As part of continuing effort to encourage young Manipuris, a painting competition based on 'Funga wari', theme was organised on 12th Aug, 2007 at Bal Vidya Higher Secondary School, Kongpal, Imphal.

The competition was grouped into two categories:
Category A for students of class 1-5 and
category B for students of class 6-10.

The paticipation was phenomenal with 460 students taking part in the contest , with an overall attendance over 800 people including parents , guardians and well wishers.

IMPFO would like to share our gratitude to the prominient figures who graced the function as judges of the painting competition -

The prize distribution ceremony was chaired by our honourable Titular King Leishemba Sanajaoba as the chief guest. The proud winners of the first online indegenious value promoting Funga wari and painting competition , were later then facilitated with prizes.

Category A (Class 1 to 5)

We hope that the wise words of our Epus and Ebens (elders),which have been passed through many generations in the form of Fungawari, would continue to encourage and inspire many more Manipuris. We wish this competition will encourage the tradition of narrating and passing on the wisdom of our wise ancestor to the future generations.

We are very grateful to all the participants for the enthusiam and commitment shown by them has proved that the beautiful tradition of narrating Fungawari is still very much alive in our Manipur society.

Once again, we wish to show our gratitude to respected Judges and participants of FungaWari Writing and painting contest for making the event a grand success.
