A call for a Change in Manipur
Kuman Newton Singh *
It is critical to write on the issues of Manipur because everyone from top bureaucrats to common people has their own versions, what we called OPINIONS. Everyone seems to lose faith of others.
Are we really in the verge of civil war hoping for an absolute change or disintegration of the country, which I can proudly quote as I believe that Manipur exist as an independent country for more than 2000 years even in B.C s.
We have many diverse ethnic groups in Manipur and every group has their own thinking and their ideas of safeguarding their particular tribes. Are we not too much influenced by the narrow minded class division? We are only a small state which has a population in lakhs much less compared to many states in India.
Remember always "United We Stand Divided We Fall".
Is not our duty to safeguard the territorial integrity as a whole? And mind you, are we not brothers and sisters that we share some way or the other share our food habit, ascent, moral value, dressing styles? We are like a rainbow that comprises of beautiful ethnic beauties.
It is well said: "A Wise Family Solves The Family Problems Amongst Their Family". Are we not like a family which has difference in some dressing sense, food habit, likes, interests and area of comfort?
Then why should we just separate ourselves from the ones whom we love. No one can exactly meet the expectations of another.
So I think the words like 'compromise' and 'adjustment' would have been included in the dictionary for this purpose. So proper attention in everything we do and positive attitude would give productive solution.
Today's critical condition of the state is not entirely due to the Government but it plays a major role. Careful handling in governance could have reduced the problem to an area of acceptability.
I know our state has long way to go compared to other developed states or some developed countries.
What do you expect from a group of people where their wards can't be educated due to lack of school or unavailability of teachers in school in this 21st century?
How do you expect to commute without a motor-able road?
Another counter question can also be asked, how can we expect honest and good governance by selling our votes to some moneymen? It is high time for each and everyone to visualise and act accordingly. They are the one whom our interest will be made heard to the government and we should not hesitate in choosing or rejecting.
To Remain Blinded Is More Dangerous Than Least Knowledge!
