33 AD	Accession to the Throne by Manipur's most respected King Pakhangba who reigned for 120 Years
154 AD	Khuyoi Tompok Ascended the Throne. It is beleived that PUNG was invented during his reign.
264 AD	Taothing Mang ascended the Throne. He is regarded as one of the makers of Manipur.
1074 AD	King Loiyumba ascended the Throne. Many social reforms took place during his reign.
1247 AD	Puranthaba ascended the Throne. Chinese invaded Manipur during his reign but were defeated.
1467 AD	Kyamba ascended the Throne. He is noted for his Military & Administrative achievements.
1470 AD	Kabaw Valley & Chindwin were annexed to Manipur.
1533 AD	King Kabomba defeated the Tripuris. Takhel Khong (canal) dug.
1704 AD	King Charairongba was initiated into Vaishavism. Vaishnavism became state religion.
1741 AD	Pamheiba (Garibniwaz) ascended the Throne.
1736 AD	Garibniwaz's army crossed Ningthee river and captured Mayedu town on the banks of Yu River (presently in Myanmar).
1762 AD	The first allaince between Manipur & East India Company made.
1775 AD	Wangkhei Echao -Worst recorded flood in Manipur.
1819 AD	Seven Years desertation (1819 - 1825).
1826 AD, February 1	Liberation of Manipur completed from Burmese rule under leadership of king Gambhir singh.
1826 AD, February 24.	Treaty of Yandaboo signed.
1833 AD	Jiribam was annexed to Manipur.
1834 AD, January.	Kabaw Valley handed over back to Burma.
1885 AD	Manipuris extended help to British Army in the 2nd Anglo-Burmese War.
1890 AD	Palace revolt broke out during Maharaja Surchandra's reign.
1891 AD, March 31.	The Govt. of India (under the British) declared War against Manipur.
1891 AD, April 23.	Khongjom War.
1891 AD, April 27.	Manipur annexed into the British Empire.
1891 AD, August 13.	Yuvaraj Tikendrajit & General Thangal executed by the British.
1904 AD	1st Nupi Lal (Women's War).
1907 AD	Manipur State Durbar established.
1916 AD	First Kuki Baptist Church established at Tujang Vaichong village.
1917 AD	Rise of Kuki rebellion against the British.
1931 AD, August.	Jadonang, a great Zeliangrong leader, was executed.
1939 AD, October 12.	2nd Nupi Lal (women's war)
1941 AD	Maharaja Bodhachandra ascended the Throne.
1944 AD, April 14.	The Flag of Indian National Army (INA) first unfurled on the soil of Independent India at Moirang.
1949 AD, September 2.	Merger Agreement between tyhe Govt of India & Manipur signed.
1957 AD	Manipur became one of the Union territories fot he Indian Union. Territorial Council replaces Advisory form of Govt.
1963 AD	A Legislative Assembly established.
1963 AD, December 19.	Status of Administrator raised from Chief Commissioner to Governor.
1970 AD	Construction of Loktak Project started.
1972 AD, January 21.	Statehood attained
1983 AD, May.	Commisioning of Loktak Project.
1990 AD	Manipur featured int he Railway map with introduction of Railway line at Jiribam.
1991 AD, August 16.	Worst Air crash in the Manipur Area of Indian Airlines Boeing at Thangjing Hills.
1992 AD, August 20.	Manipuri language included in the 8th Schedule fo the Indian Constitution as a Major Indian language.
1992 AD	The first sign of the outbreak of long standing communal clashes between The Naga & the Kuki tribes.
1993 AD, May.	Communal clash between Meiteis & the Manipuri Muslims.
1997 AD, July.	Ethnic clash between the kuki & Paite tribes in Churachandpur district.
1997 AD, August 4.	Largest procession in the history of Manipur to safe guard Manipur's territorial integrity.
1999AD, December 31.	"www.e-pao.net" First online Manipuri News service born.
2001AD, June 18.	Mass protests against "Extension of Ceasefire between GoI-NSCN(IM) without territorial limits" which threatened the integrity of Manipur.
