Wrong Teaching

Louriyam Bebica *

To be a leader, first, be a human.
Carrying only the form of human doesn't certify you to be a human.
To be a leader, stand for truth
Posting selfie on Facebook page, doesn't display your kindness.
Your Apple phone or Rolex watch doesn't reveal your wealth.

A wealth is the blessing and love by your people.
Not when they wanna reach your neck at the very moment you appear in front of them.
God has granted a BRAIN, do access and make use of it.
Don't block him from functioning, you are not born a puppet.

Hardly people live to 100 years,
Nor I think you are one of them.
So, count the years of your remaining life,
Don't assume to be long.
In short, its short.

So, live and let other live.
Be friend with your brain and restrict your tongue.
If you can say no good, don't say ill too.

I laugh at your thought when you tag yourself with
'Intelligent, if able to manipulate situation for your benefit'
For your knowledge, I coined you the most stupid for this act.
I say nothing, doesn't mean I know nothing.
So, stop fooling yourself and be a true leader.

The very thought of realizing that some group of people does exist who treats woman as a sex object is scary. This thought is more horrified when we had to accept the fact that they don't spare even a baby. Or should I say, seeing the fact 'they feel no guilt nor regret' sicken me to the core of my heart. Here, I frankly do not know who is the real culprit 1) the one who raped the girl, b) the one proudly walked defending those monster in the name of religion, c) the leader who allows this system OR d) the girl who is born as a GIRL.

When are we going to realize, we can't accept his cruelty because he is a Hindu, nor we can't punish his innocent, because he is a Muslim. Let's punish for his act, not for his religion.

I was always taunted by my grandma, according to her I did not know what is asheng amang 'religious rule'. Nor I ever cared on her words. Because my dad always says, "Be a good human, never do anything to other that you will never like other to do on you". This principle is the religion of my father. And I kind of fit into it.

He says, "The ideology behind every religion is wonderful and peaceful. But, as we cannot deny the fact that 'meaning lie on the person who interprets it, like beauty lie in the eye of the beholder', and people take the freedom to interpret it as they wish. They justify their evil acts in the name of religion, as they know, Mr. Religion will never stand against them to speak in his defense. However, if you ever find yourself in a situation where religion is used as an instrument to justify your sin, remember, you are religion -LESS".

I have seen his anger and helplessness in his eyes often, when his mother has something or other to comment on my mom. I am sure, my grandma will agree with me that my mom is such a wonderful and lovely person. However, she always seems to have problem with her. The only explanation she could give was, "Why did my son married a woman of another caste, he has broken the way to heaven for me".

I do not how the way to heaven is related to my mom's caste system. I really do not know. Whenever, I asked my mom this question, either she will cry or she will excuse herself and ignored my question. Dad is the only one who seems to have a vison/answer to my question. He believes, my grandma has taken the liberty to interpret her religion according to her wish, which he called 'WRONG TEACHING'.

It is so unfortunate that our society is soaked in the pond of this WRONG TEACHING. It is beyond any words to express the society we are living now. People are judged base on their religion, if you are Muslim, you are terrorist, if you are Hindu, your acts can be justified, if you are Christian, you are not a brother bla bla. I don't understand how they justify their ideology to be correct. Sometime, if possible, I would love to go inside their brain and check what kind of extra mechanisms they have, that enable them to think it is right.

My dear, all the Muslims are not terrorist, nor all the Hindus are innocent. Please, terrorist is terrorist, rapist is rapist, Muslim is Muslim, Hindu is Hindu, Christian is Christian, like tree is tree, dog is dog as simple as that. They are different terms, kindly don't tag a permanent mislead concept on it. Let the people judge base on his/her character.

It is not a shirt or shoe that are sold in a mall where rates are fixed. Don't apply the concept, the price of your shoes is 5000 rupees, and it is not negotiable. It is different domain, treat it differently. Because, different things are made for different domains, if you try to misadjust them, it will only make a chaos scenario.

Let me share about one of my friend who happened to be my roommate too at the time of our college life. During those period, once, there was a flood. Every institution was closed down and we were asked to evacuate from the hostel. The road was flooded and those electric wires by the sides of the road were laying under the water. It was high risk for everyone to walk on the road. So, basically, no one or let's say no man of any religion was willing to come and pick her from the hostel. But, her two friends came to pick her up. Can you believe, they took turns and carried her on their back till they reached safely.

If they happened to judge my friend base on her religion, they won't have come on that day. Because, according to our society, Muslims are supposed to hate Hindu or vise versa, and she is a Hindu. But, they came, because, they did not judge her base on her religion. So, she always jokes, my two best friends are Muslims, but, it doesn't make me an unpatriotic person.

I am not trying to appreciate or disgrace any particular community or religion. My only request is, 'judge a person base on his/her character. Don't come to the conclusion without knowing anything about him/her, only because he/she belongs to a particular religion'. It does not matter whether his name is Arif, or Ady or whatever. It is just a term, it has nothing to do with who he really is.

And also, we live in a country of democracy, giving us the liberty to be liberal. This gives you the authority to have your own ideology which is your BUSINESS. So, if you believe, it is wrong to eat pork, don't eat or if you believe, it is wrong to eat beef, don't eat. However, if you try to impose it on someone who has different beliefs, it is not your BUSINESS. In other words, lets mind our own BUSINNES.
