Dear brothers and sisters, on this first day of the New Year, 2015, I appeal to all of you to place first things first. To be or not to be is the question. To answer the question is to try our best to fulfil the good and the best things for ourselves, our community and our state of Manipur.

This morning we stand at the threshold of a new year. As we stand this New Year morning, let us remember what wrongs we have done in the last year, 2014. Let us try our best to shun the wrongs we have committed. Let us also remember the good things we have done last year, 2014 and let us try our best to do more good works in this new year, 2015. If we have plans to achieve for our family, community and our state of Manipur, let us start it quickly to finish it in the year, 2015. Let us not wait for the next year.

There are two/three points which all of us must consider wisely. They are as follows. Let us see them one by one briefly.

No. 1. Let us not believe in everything that we think, but let us observe carefully whether our thinking is wrong or right. Let us observe our internal responses to various situations around us. Let us not think only for ourselves.

No. 2. Let us try our best to help others. We are many times focussed on thinking and receiving but we forget what should be done for other people. We should not forget the great feeling that we experience when we serve others, especially when we know that we have helped to improve their lives.

No. 3. Let us play a big role for the good of ourselves, our family, our community, our state, our country and for the whole world. We all receive many different talents from God for development as human beings. Let us all use the talents we receive from God.

No. 4. Let us apply the power of perspective. That when something unwelcome and uninvited comes to our way, let us step back and try to see the better and good thing. If we do not think deeply and wisely the power of performance we have may spoil our life, even our community, our state and our country. So, let us be careful with whatever power we apply.

Lastly, but not the least, I appeal to all the indigenous communities of Kangleipak/Manipur the Nagas, Kukis, Meiteis, and Metei Pangals to live in harmony and co-operatively to develop our state of Kangleipak.
