There is no place like you
O! My motherland Manipur!
In this world of "absorbing cult", thou stand apart.
What do I say about you?
Thou hast "bountiful" nature.

The hills and valleys, so beautiful and lively, as if the Maker had carved thou with immense effort.
Thy flora and fauna hast rare occurrence in the world.
The seamless blending of Vaishnavism and Sanamahism along with different communities of the tribes and castes adds lively colours to the scenario.

Where can we find the Breath taking "Ras Rila" and the spine tingling "Thang-Ta" on a single stage? Where can we find the Kabui dance and Naga dance and kuki dance on a single platform? Where do we find such amalgamation of rare beauties? No where but only on this land called "Manipur" – a land surrounded by seven hills.

It is said
"Chingna koina pan ngakpa, chingmeena koina pansaba"
The hills stand as guards and men of hills stands as barriers.

This is our homeland "Manipur" (city of Gems)…. A unique place with its salient features. A curious- wonder for those who haven’t set foot in this wondrous place.

And the people of Manipur have ever been hard working and united. History stands as the truth. Adversities big and small has come and gone but the people have faced them with bravery and unity. Manipur a cool place with harmonious people!

However, where from came a black cloud showering acid rain?

It is ruining this palace of nature and everyone is ill and sick. Many are blinded and much more are deafened. It is of wonder how this acid rain came? Theories say too much pollution is the cause. Who caused the pollution? Well, as this land stands high and protected by seven strong hills and guards, it couldn’t have come from anywhere else but from inside only!

Yes, Let us keep our external enemies at bay for sometime and focus on within us first. For how long do we have to suffer? Manipur has been quite volatile and from the past 4 years, it has been continuously evolving lava. Will peace be never there in our state?

The recent demolition of burning down the Manipur Central Library sends a shock to people like me residing outside the state. It is the most condemnable event. It is bringing the spade down to one’s own feet!

Whom do we blame?

The damage is already done. However the need of the hour is to eradicate such school of "irresponsible thoughts" which promotes such destructive action.

In which religious script do we find encrypted that burning down of books is a pious thing? I would say this is the misinterpretation of a number of uneducated and illiterate fellows who are against civilization. The damaged done is irreparable.

I shudder to think what a great loss it is to the society of Manipur. The rest of the World is racing with each other.

Everyone is growing up, developing good and new things. Ours is the only place where instead of joining hands and marching forward, we are pulling each other down.

Will we ever see a peaceful
"Sana Leibaak Manipur"?
