Paradox of networking market

Heisnam Somi *

In the past few days there have been a lot of hues and cries over the network marketing that are flourishing in Manipur in a rapid pace. Manipur being a part of the globe and having accessed to the internet facilities such lucrative marketing facilities cannot be simply ignored or be deprived. This is a piece of fortune for Manipur in the big global map.

Rather the advent of network marketing in Manipur is bit too late in comparison with other countries. Yes all network groups cannot tag best brand. There were certain evidences of fraud, cheating and mischief. We need to see the authenticity of the company hence it is absolutely depending on the wisdom of the individual to analyze and to single out which would be the best company in the long run.

Among many booming networking groups in Manipur Travel Ventures International (TVI) is one company that is taking the lead role that became the 'talk of the town' knick named as "Pokhaibi".

People of Manipur are not that fool who would fall on cheap tricks. Neither the people in the networking market are after the easy money. Some self-claimed intelligent section who never had a success story in his track record always cry in the newspaper that money is being drained out. I doubt is not this the story of grapes are sour. They are inborn 'negativism' always sees thing with their jaundiced eyes. They may say this is "overnight rich schemes", fraud and so on. But this is nothing of that sort.

Organising people into groups and making them understand the benefit received out of the network requires certain skills, talents and lots more. On the top of that network marketing is not everybody's job.

The distributor or agent should possess a clean financial repute in his society. Manipur is a big powerhouse in every field; be it sport or culture so on. Likewise some crapes in Manipur are also more expert in pulling down their mate's legs than their counterpart in Orissa. This is no wonder in Manipur.

Network marketing is as old as humankind. This is the power of chain system where people all over the world work together as a single force and reap the benefits together. This is very simple formula. TVI is not the first networking market in Manipur already there have been many groups operating.

But not a single finger had been pointed from any corner of Manipur but why some people raise their eyebrows against TVI remains a big question. I have also came across many who have written on TVI earlier but they were always found to be either influenced by someone or obviously running after a cheap media gimmick.

TVI despite hurdles from its close business rivals, its membership rose to 1, 83,927 numbers where Chinese ranked top, Indian second and Korea third on the top list. It is so unfortunate many opened there mouth without much knowledge. Their version reflects the sheer jealousy within, a chronic phobia that cannot see somebody become success. This kind of writing presents a poor light to the readers exposing their internal emotions rather than giving a chance to discuss the pros and cons of this booming global industry.

About US $ 427 billion a year across the globe are being transacted in the networking market globally. About 60% of new businesses are now started from home –equal to over 1,400 new businesses each week. Of all the business, network marketing is the most dominant business model and offering jobs to over 43 million people worldwide with a turn over exceeding $ 75 billion in worldwide sales.

The Network marketing is taught at Harvard and Stanford schools and in many leading school and colleges. Network marketing is no doubt the fastest business in the world. There are 58 million people directly involving in this venture. Please log in (1) www.dsa.org (2) www.wfdsa.org. Dr. Stephen R. Convey renowned writer said "I think network marketing has come of age. It has become undeniable that it is a viable way to entrepreneurship and independence of millions of people.

Paul Zane Pilzer, the world acclaimed economist pronounced and had promised "From 2006 to 2016 there will be 10 million new millionaires in the U.S. alone, more than double the last decade many will be from Direct Selling Industry"..Billionare investor and richest man of the World, warren buffet proclaimed" This is the best investment I ever made".

Bill Clinton the former American President strongly supported the Networking direct selling groups and commented " Your industry promotes core values all around the world and gives people the chance to make the most of their lives and to me that is the heart of the American dreams".

I hope they are not siphoning off from Manipur by saying this. This is global phenomenon and not to be discussed on Manipur platform, parts of the globalization and it would be too much being aloof of the trend.

I wonder how some people are so prejudiced on the Network marketing. Better they study carefully before crying in the newspaper. Democracy offered wider spectrum where one can express one's ability. The world is running through recession, news of thousands of jobs being cut everywhere in every sector, downsizing of employees and closing of many business houses everywhere have become the news.

TVI is the latest tool to fight this phenomenon. TVI has now started putting back lives to many dead and defunct sectors like those related with tourism. We know and understand the impact of this sudden change in our everyday life. But we must change to survive. If we always think of resisting the change in our life we belong to the pessimistic group of useless people. Ignorance can be forgiven once but not the excuse all the times.

The world is growing richer day by day only through Networking. Shall we simply refrain from this lucrative business only to serve the interest of few coteries? In the short span of time many have landed on bandwagon and they never looked back now. They are successful man in life not only in TVI or Networking market but in all spheres of life.

When somebody speaks about the money being drained out from Manipur to other states and other countries than one simple sentence is enough to answer it. We are purchasing everything from other states. 5 days economic blockade in Manipur amply shows where we stand today.

The fine dresses people puts on are from other states and when it comes to essential commodities beginning from potatoes to salts, it is all purchased from other states. Is not this huge drain out of economy? Then why TVI alone?

Now it comes to human resources. A large chunk of student communities are studying outside? Is it because we are lacking in academic infrastructure?

Cores or rupees are being drained out consistently. Banks are houseful, long beeline queue are there only to transfer the money to Delhi and other capital cities of other states.

As for TVI something is returning back. People have started learning computers for TVI requires computer knowledge. People who are jobless seemed held their neck high with a vision. Debts are cleared. Few lakhs rupees became a short journey. The dream cars are within one's reach. Switzerland and exotic locations of tourism across the world have been offered as incentives, thus offers an ample chance to expose oneself in the international level.

Why we should lose this rarely acquired opportunity? The time calls everybody come and digests the core value TVI gives to the people of Manipur in particular and the world in general. "I am unsuccessful follow my tracks" is too selfish and cunning. Better change the mindset if not please keep quiet at least for the nation sake.
