NIT Imphal

NITs are made available by the GOI like tissue paper these days. All the present NITs are trying their best to become the top engineering institute next to IITs. NIT is an autonomous institute of national importance.

Every NIT runs autonomously with the following as the Board of Governors :

01. The Chairman: An Eminent Technologist/ Engineer/ Industrialist/ Educationist to be nominated by the Central Government

02. Nominee of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India

03. Nominee of the Department of Higher/Technical Education, Govt. of the state

04. Head of another Technical Institution in the Region or an eminent technologist nominated by the Central Government

05. Director of Indian Institute of Technology, [ in the region ] or his nominee

06. Nominee of the UGC not below the rank of a Deputy Secretary 08. Nominee of the AICTE not below the rank of an Advisor

07. An alumnus of the Institute from amongst alumni in Education/Industry to be nominated by the Board of Governors

08. Two representatives representing large, medium and small scale industries to be nominated by the Central Government

09. One Professor and One Associate Professor of the Institute by rotation

10. Director of the Institute - ex-officio Member-Secretary.

The institute is never run by the state government but by the Board of governors ( the ultimate headship is given to the Director for execution / running the institute ). If the Manipur government wants to run / try to run NIT Imphal with their MOST DIRTY politics, the institute will never ever grow in life.

Those who get admission in NITs are considered to be the cream of the state/country next to IITs. If a student have no backlog the he / she is guaranteed to have a good job by the end of 7th semester of the B.Tech course.

But I am afraid to see that Manipur Government will only try to make money out of the institute by injecting their politics into the institute setting up in the state capital of Manipur. If the Goverment continue to play politics then our NIT Imphal engineers will never get job because Companies will never ever come to recruit them.

Even if I am given an opportunity to become the Director, I will never ever join NIT Imphal because I hate to see the Most dirty corruption and politics prevailing in the state. I got my current position without paying a penny in fact I was paid for attending the interview.

If I have to get my current position in Manipur I have to pay at least 20-30 lakhs. Politics is good but politicians of our state has reached the worst state. No corruption no job in Manipur.

Sometime I used to think why don't I use the knowledge I have learned for my people in Manipur , but the tragedy is that the Government will not allow me to work because I will never pay a penny to get a job.

My fiancee is also working in IIT. Why don't we think of coming and shaping NIT Imphal an institute of national importance .... the simple fact is that we wouldn't give bribe for getting any job.

All the best ones will be out of the state one day because we hate corruption. One day our lovely state will be ruined by all the bribe takers and bribe givers. We work hard for the institute and for the students here but there in Manipur people wait for their salary and nothing else ( exception ones might be there ).

The government started the corruption, now the government servants are following the footsteps to pay back the bribe they have given in getting their jobs . I just wish that bribe taking and giving stops immediately and the best engineers/doctors etc of the state work in all the offices with sincerity and honesty.

NIT Imphal is a new project for the state. It can bring forth many good engineers or it may become a place for earning money. If the government is good then the public will be well-off and if the public would have been good then the government would have been good.

Whom shall we blame????????
