BRIEF PROFILE

Manipur Data Systems is one of the pioneers of medical transcription industry in the northeastern states of India. The company, launched on February 25, 2001, is the first company in Manipur to provide training and services of Medical Transcription and Business Transcription.

MDS is a satellite center of one of the largest medical transcription companies based in New Delhi which is a part of $100 million business group.

MEDICAL TRANSCRIPTION

By its simplest definition, Medical Transcription is the process whereby voice dictation is converted to a typewritten (hard copy or electronic) format. According to American Association for Medical Transcription (AAMT), the professional organization of medical transcriptionists, a medical transcriptionist is a medical language specialist who interprets and transcribes dictation by physician and other healthcare professional regarding patient assessment, workup, therapeutic procedure, clinical course, diagnosis, prognosis, etc., in order to document patient care and facilitate delivery of health care services.

BUSINESS TRANSCRIPTION

On the other hand, business transcription is relatively new to India and many of the Indian transcription companies. It involves conversion of the recorded speeches, talks, interviews, and lectures of seminars, meetings, or conventions.

With the availability of high-speed satellite links, it is now entirely feasible to do this work in India in technical terms. The cost effectiveness still remains a very strong determinant in getting the business transcription work outsourced to India.

TRAINING METHODOLOGY

1. After successfully conducting the 9-month intensive Medical Transcription Training Program, MDS has 100% absorption record of its trained Medical Language Specialists or Medical Transcriptionists. The trained transcriptionists from the first batch are presently working in the company as full-fledged employees.

2. With sheer quality and commitment to work and with focused marketing strategy, MDS has become a satellite center of one of the largest Medical Transcription companies in India. Presently, MDS is providing services to many clinics, polyclinics, hospitals, and individual doctors in United States.

3. Manipur Data Systems also takes pride in being the first company in the Northeast to have gone into Business Transcription. It has successfully completed the pilot project of Business Transcription and has made tremendous progress in this area of work.

FUTURE PLANS
