Raga Runway 2026 Begins Talent Hunt for Fresh Faces Ahead of Musical Fashion Show

Auditions on 22 March invite aspiring models from across Manipur to participate in the musical fashion showcase inspired by the theme “Peaceful Mind Creates Brightest Ideas.”

In a vibrant celebration of youth, creativity, and culture, RAGA RUNWAY 2026 – A Musical Fashion Show is set to take place on 4th April 2026 at AG Complex, Thoubal Athokpam.

Organised by Maneuvering Youth Thoubal (MYT) in association with Daylark Academy of Fashion Designing, the event promises to be one of the most exciting youth-driven fashion and music showcases in the region. The organisers have announced a Model Casting Call inviting aspiring models from across Manipur to register and participate in the event.

The casting audition will be held on 22 March 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Multipurpose Hall, Thoubal Kshetri Leikai Haotabi. The audition aims to discover fresh faces and emerging talent who will walk the runway at the highly anticipated Raga Runway 26, a musical fashion event. The audition will have Femina Miss India fame Soibam Kanchan Chanu has been crowned Femina Miss India Manipur 2017 and renowned model Rakesh Nongmainthem who won Manhunt International India 2022 as jury members.

Inspired by the theme “Peaceful Mind Creates Brightest Ideas,” the event carries a deeper meaning for the youth of Manipur. The state has witnessed periods of tension and crisis that have affected communities, opportunities, and aspirations. Yet despite these challenges, the youth of Manipur continue to demonstrate remarkable resilience, creativity, and the determination to build a peaceful and progressive society.

The theme reflects the belief that peace is not merely the absence of conflict but the foundation of creativity, innovation, and progress. When young minds are given the space to feel safe, supported, and inspired, they are able to transform their ideas into meaningful contributions—whether through fashion, art, entrepreneurship, technology, or cultural expression.

Blending the energy of live music with the elegance of fashion, RAGA RUNWAY 2026 will feature an impressive line-up of popular Manipuri artists including Benita Laishram, Makok The Band, Ranbir Thouna, Uttam, and Gems & Jack, who will be performing live, adding a dynamic musical experience to the runway showcase.

Through platforms such as Raga Runway, organisers hope to encourage skill development and creative empowerment among young people, enabling them to channel their talents toward productive and innovative pursuits. Fashion, design, and other creative industries can become powerful avenues for youth to express identity, preserve culture, and create new livelihood opportunities.

The event will bring together designers, performers, models, and creative enthusiasts, providing a dynamic platform that celebrates fashion, music, and youth talent while promoting a positive representation of Manipur’s vibrant creative community.

Eligibility and Requirements

Participants interested in joining the casting call must meet the following criteria:
• Female models with a minimum height of 5.3 ft and above
• Dress code: Denim jeans (T-shirt will be provided at the venue)
• Registration fee: ₹500

Selected participants will have the opportunity to walk the runway at Raga Runway 26, an event that aims to spotlight emerging talent alongside some of Manipur’s renown models while inspiring young people to embrace creativity, confidence, and new possibilities.
