Imphal Jamboree - Youth festival
Date : 2nd to 4th November 2018

The Global Shapers Community is a network of inspiring young people between the age of 20 - 30 years, working together, driving dialogue, action and change across societies. It is an initiative of World Economic Forum based at Geneva, and Imphal Hub was officially launched on 5th Sept, 2015. We believe in a world where young people are central to solution building, policy- making and lasting change.

In each city, teams of Shapers self- organize to create projects that address the needs of their community. Projects are wide- ranging from responding to disasters, combating poverty, civic sense awareness, career counselling for school students to fighting climate change and building inclusive communities. Shapers are diverse in expertise, education, income and race, but are united by their desire to bring about positive change.

Imphal Jamboree is a platform for young people to share knowledge, ideas, experience and stories alongside experts in finding solutions to the global challenges in regional context. We aim to “Improve the state of Youth” by fostering self- employment opportunities, sustaining and reinforcing the spirit of volunteerism and community service, develop youth leadership in various socio- economic and cultural sphere, promote a major participatory role for the youth in the protection and preservation of environment.

Event date – 2nd to 4th November 2018

We vision to build a resilient youth population equipped with knowledge, skills and zest to act, advocate and make better decisions tomorrow through three critical areas in building society with conformity to youth which are as follows:

1. Youth leadership and motivation session
2. Workshop on Education and Environment; and
3. Entrepreneurship Development sessions and Business Pitching Competition

During these three days of event, youth will be engaged with academicians, experts, development practitioners and discuss their aspirations through various interactive sessions. Experts from national and international community are invited along with real life heroes such as Forest man of India to inspire and motivate youths.

By the end of the event, we aim to equip at- least 300 youth with skills, knowledge and the energy to get their voices heard in critical juncture in the community enabling them to take part in societal development process.
