MSFDS Encourages Filmmakers to Enter the Prestigious 72nd National Film Awards

Manipur State Film Development Society (MSFDS) hereby informs the State’s film community that the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, has officially launched the call for entries for the 72nd National Film Awards for 2024. This is a clarion call to all the talented filmmakers of the State to bring our state's unique stories and cinematic excellence to the national stage.

The awards invite submissions across Feature Films (fiction) and Non-Feature Films (documentaries, short films) that were certified by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) between January 1, 2024, and December 31, 2024.

This is a golden opportunity for our state’s cinematic artists to gain national recognition and celebrate the diverse narratives and rich cultural heritage of Manipur.

Key submission requirements include: Films certified by CBFC between 01.01.2024 and 31.12.2024. All films must have English subtitles. Applications must be submitted online, followed by a signed hard copy sent via post. Online Application Deadline is October 31, 2025 (5:00 PM) and Hard copy submission deadline is November 6, 2025

MSFDS urges filmmakers to act promptly and submit their work of excellence.
