Introduction
The Nupi Lan Day Observation 2010 was organized by the Manipur Students Association Delhi on 12 December 2010, at the Open Air Theatre, Arts Faculty, University of Delhi, from 2 p.m. to 4.30 p.m.

Welcome address by Manishwar 2.30 p.m.
Tribute to the Nupi Lan activists. 2.35 p.m two minutes silence
Key note address by Malem Ningthouja
Narrated the events of 12 Decemeber 1939 and the subsequent movement for responsible government. Contextualise Nupi Lan into the overall struggle against colonial rule. Related the 1939 movement with the ongoing Meira Paibee movement and asserted that the struggle for democratic rights had been a continuous process since the British period. Called upon for collective struggle towards development, peace and unity in Manipur.
Speech by Chongtham Gunamani
Discouraged ritualism centred on past event. Said that the historical events should be commemorated in order to uphold the spirit of resistance among the present generation so that they fight for their rights and social progress.
Speech by Chingthangkhomba
Said that there is a need for mutual understanding, unity and collective struggle.
Speech by RK. Sanayaima
Said that love for motherland should not be misunderstood with insurgency and reaction. Call upon the student community to take part in democratic activity and carry forward the goal of democracy.
Speech by Elangbam Amit
Said that one should attend programme with commitment and the vision to carry out action in order to develop the society.
Speech by K. Priyananda
Said that those who concentrate on study can also develop nationalism in their own private domain. Their personal success can be a contribution to the collective achievement.
Speech by Kh. Narmada
Said that social progress would be possible when led by the committed activists that could sacrifice for the cause of the society. She appealed for a combination of study and activism by the students.
Speech by Lalremlien Neitham
Expressed the plight of the Hmar people as a result of the potential destruction to be caused by the controversial Tipaimukh Dam. Called upon the people to fight collectively for democratic rights.
