Date: 13th August, 2010
Today, MSAD organized a programme under the theme "1891 Remembered" to pay homage to our brave Manipuri patriots who lost their life while fighting to defend freedom against the British invasion in 1891 in Manipur. We also paid homage to all those who were exiled for life by the British. About 60 students were present in the programme. All those present in the proramme first paid homage to our martyrs with flowers and then stayed silent for two minutes as part of paying homage.
MSAD also held an open essay writing competition on the topic "Political Leadership in Manipur" for the students from Manipur in connection with today's programme. About 35 students had participated in the competition.
The programme was started from 3.30 p.m. and continued till 6.30 p.m. during which the essay competition was held in between 4.10 p.m. and 5.10 p.m. for an hour. The programme ended with a discussion session among all those present in the programme.
