Scribes join condemnation chorus

Imphal, March 30: Journalists Association of Senapati District (JASD), Naga Christian Forum, Manipur (NCFORUM), Naga Catholic Federation, Manipur (NCFM) and Mao Students Union (MSU) have termed the kidnapping and the subsequent murder of Mohni Martin and Hriini Hubert as dastardly act and asked that nothing of such incident be repeated again.

The journalist body of Senapati district while strongly condemning the incident has termed it as "the heinous crime meted out to the two school going kids".

The media body shares the pains and sorrows of the bereaved families and relatives.

NCFORUM and NCFM while praying for the repose of the young departed souls, have condole the grief-striken families of the two kids.

The two Christian bodies then prayed that Almighty God will give the spirit of repentance to the people of Manipur and demanded that such heinous crime does not repeat again in future.

The Mao students body demanded the government that secure atmosphere be created for the children and urged the general public that such thing be never be allowed to occur again in future.It then share the grief of the family members of the two boys.

Meanwhile, president of the Journalists Association of Senapati District (JASD) John Basho Pou has said that the minds of the Senapati public have now been filled with fear and feelings of insecurity due to the fact that truth and justice no longer prevail in the society.

"People are now losing faith and confidence of the law keepers and guardians of the citizens' life.

All their (Government) credibility and accountability are in big question, hence fact should be put up at the earliest by bringing the culprits to book and justice should be given to the bereaved families and the public.

If it is done at the right time, many frustrating youth in the district will take advantage our callousness and apathy of the state judiciary," said the president of the Journalists body.

John Basho Pou also stated that it is obvious that citizens are now looking for other options for help, justice and solution due to the fact that state government fails to act what they ought to do.
