Imphal, July 21: Explaining the reason for the detention of the two women, self styled Sgt Maj, Civil Army Intl, Ningtamba Mangang while briefing newsmen somewhere at Bishnupur district today said that the two women have been detained as their sons had deserted the party with arms.

After their desertion came to light PREPAK informed their parents to meet their children as it did not want any ugly episode to follow, said Mangang and added that when the cadres of the outfit approached the two deserters to talk things over so that the arms can be handed over they ran away.

Since it was imperative that the arms should be returned to the outfit the two mothers were made to stay with PREPAK, said Mangang and added that since it was not very proper to let two women stay at their camp, they contacted the family members so that other responsible family members may come.

However this went unheeded and later the mobile of the families were switched off.

Asserting that PREPAK has its own recruitment and retirement policies, Mangang said that the two violated the principles of the outfit by running away without any prior information and that too with arms.

Since the party did not want to work up a ruckus which could prove detrimental it tried to bring about a solution internally by asking other responsible family members to come, said Mangang and added that since this has not been respected it amounts to disrespecting the movement of PREPAK.

Should the outfit just remain silent and allow its weapons to be lost ?.

The answer ought to be provided by the NGOs, said Mangang and added that there is no way the outfit will tolerate any loss of weapons.

Despite these facts a number of CSO are raising their voices against PREPAK and trying to portray the party as a gang of child lifters, said Mangang and added that the outfit is not only about children but an organisation which is there to work for restoring the lost sovereignty of the land.

The outfit further said that none of the armed groups in the State are approved by the UN and questioned how many of the groups are adhering to the norms of the UN.

Mockingly it asked the NGOs to question how the UN recognised forces such as the US Army and SCY detainees.

On the charges of recruiting children the outfit said it wants the children with them to be educated properly so that they become pillars of the future.

Should the forged years of children to get into SSB/NCC/VVF be taken as the consent of the UN it asked and added that the mindless howling of the NGOs and Editors is a matter of shame.
