After holding talks with Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil yesterday, Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh, who is presently at New Delhi, today called on Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and AICC president Sonia Gandhi to apprise them of the present problems of Manipur.
When contacted through on his mobile phone, the Chief Minister said after the present situation of Manipur was highlighted to the Union Home Minister yesterday, he called on Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and the AICC president separately today and apprised them with various issues besetting Manipur and the problems being faced by the people.
During his meeting with the Prime Minister and Sonia Gandhi, Ibobi said, he communicated in the detail, the difficulty in maintaining law and order due to inadequate State force, the impact of the economic blockade called by ANSAM on the socio-economic life of the people and shortage of essential commodities, fertilisers, etc.
When asked whether the Prime Minister and the AICC president have given any positive response to solve the problems highlighted by him, the Chief Minister did not give any comment.
