Imphal, August 07: To reassess the prevailing crisis in Manipur as a direct fallout of the one and a half month-long indefinite economic blockade imposed by ANSAM along the National Highways, BJP National secretary in-charge of Manipur and Nagaland Avinash Kohli will be arriving at Imphal on a three day visit from August 8 to 10.According to reliable sources from State BJP unit, Kohli will be studying the impact of the ongoing economic blockade on the socio-economic life of the people and the problems being faced by the common people due to shortage of food and other essential commodities.

The Central BJP leader is also likely to visit Jiribam to take stock of the condition of National Highway 53 and would submit a detailed report on the issue to the party high command, the source informed.

During his stay here, Kohli will also hold exhaustive discussions with the party leaders and other functionaries in the State with a view to strengthen the position of BJP in Manipur, the source added.

A BJP Parliamentary earlier arrived at Imphal during the last week of July to study the situation here.

After meeting a cross section of people, including the Governor and the Chief Minister, the Parliamentary team prepared a report which implicated the NSCN (IM) in the ongoing ANSAM sponsored economic blockade.
