DPA chalks out Monsoon Session strategy

Imphal, June 25: Selected leaders of DPA met closed door at the residence of Dr L Chandramani this evening to chalk out its strategy ahead of the monsoon session of the state Assembly.

Talking to reporters after the conclusion of the meeting, a senior leader stated that the alliance has decided to embark on an all out effort to pull down the government which it charged has failed in all spheres.

He said the DPA have so far been playing the role of a constructive opposition group.

However, after assessing the performances of the Ibobi government over the last four months, it was agreed upon that a government which will serve the state more efficiently should be installed.

Besides, the alliance has plans to give the government a torrid time when the house is convened from July 4.Leaders who took part in today's meeting told that the alliance is in the process of finalizing the issues which will be taken up during the sitting.

According to reliable sources, the reported involvement of Speaker, TN Haokip and senior minister Dr Maniruddin in the appointment of Council of Higher Secondary Education, secretary will figure prominently.

The alliance is also likely to attack the government on the utilization of Rs 600 crores which was reportedly withdrawn during the month of March.
