There will be yet another bandh on Monday in Manipur hill districts.
The Manipur Tribal Joint Action Committee Against Election Under Unwanted District Council Act (MTJACAEUUDCA) has called a 24-hour hill districts bandh starting from midnight of April 25 in protest against the state government's decision to go ahead with elections to the Autonomous District Council under the present status of the Manipur District Council Act of 2008 .
The Manipur tribal JAC also warns of taking up more drastic forms of agitation in the days to come.
"For furthering the protest against the decision of the State Government on the ADC elections under imposed legislation on the tribal people of the state, the Manipur Tribal JAC has decided to call another yet another 24 hours total bandh with effect from the midnight April 25 in the hill districts," it said.
The tribal JAC said that it will continue to protest thereafter the bandh call, till the elections process is deffered.
It then said that the agitations shall be exercised in the most democratic, constitutional and peaceful manner to achieve the set target.
The JAC appeals all sections of society to extend their co-operations during the agitations.
