Imphal, March 20: The proscribed KCP (MC) has denied its hand in the massacre of non-local migrant workers in the State on March 17 and 18. A joint press release issued by the outfit's commander-in-chief Lamjanba Khuman and communication and technical officer Tamnganba Meitei also condemned the carnage in the strongest term.

Asking who is responsible for the merciless killings and why they are creating confusion among the people, KCP (MC) termed the killings as an act of cowardice.

It also asked all concerned to give up the practice of arbitrary killing under fabricated charges.

Taking into account of Manipuri students studying in other States of India, KCP (MC) demanded an immediate halt to killing of non-locals.

In case the killing of non-locals is repeated, the perpetrators should be held accountable for the fates of Manipuri people resulting from their action.

Such wicked act committed by covering up the identities of the perpetrators is most despicable, it remarked.

Genuine revolutionaries must stand for truth with high sense of sacrifice.

It further clarified that Brojen Singh of Laphupat Tera and H Chaoba of Hiyanglam were not cadres of KCP (MC) and had no relation with the duo.
