Ram Vilas Paswan joins election campaign

Imphal, February 05: Joining the election campaign of his party like other National leaders of different political parties, the Lok Janshakti Party president Ram Vilas Paswan said that an amount of Rs 5000 would be fixed deposited for every girl child of the country in case the party comes to power in the centre.

He was speaking at an election meeting for Lok Janshakti Party candidate in Khundrakpam A/C Thangjam Shyam at Pangei Bazar today.

The LJP leader is accompanied by the party's North East in-charge Mira Chakravarty.

The plan to fixed deposit certain amount of money for every girl child is aimed at uplifting the subjugated women populace of the country, said Ram Vilas Paswan.

When the girl reaches 20, the fixed deposited sum would amount to Rs 1 lakh.

The same amount can be utilised for their education or other purposes, he said.

Saying that the Lok Janshakti Party was established to serve the interest of poor farmers and labourers, Ram Vilas appealed to the people to elect Shyam so that the impoverished and oppressed sections can be uplifted.

He later addressed another election meeting for LJP candidate in Wangkhei A/C O Khetrajit at Wangkhei Khunou Citizen Club ground.

There too, he assured Rs 5 lakhs each to every women organisation without any security under the party's agenda to empower women provided the party is elected to power.

He further pledged to establish schools all over the country where children of rich and poor would get same treatment and standard of education.

He appealed to the people all the party's candidates so that its cherished goals can be achieved.

Meanwhile, speaking on the flag hoisting ceremony of Janata Dal (Secular) candidate in Khundrakpam A/C Lairenlakpam Saratchandra, State unit president of JD (S) Kullabidhu said that the party's National president and former Prime Minister Deve Gowda would be arriving at Imphal on February 8 to campaign for the party's candidates.

On his arrival, a public rally would be taken out in Khundrakpam A/C followed by a meeting during which the former Prime Minister would announce the objectives and agenda of JD (S), Kullabidhu said.
