Imphal, September 30: Demanding that Govt of India maintain transparency in the ongoing peace talks with the NSCN (IM), United Committee Manipur reiterated that no decision should be taken to entertain the aspiration of Nagaland at the cost of Manipuri people.

A UCM statement stressed that to dispel apprehension of the masses, both sides involved in the peace talks should convey to the people developments of the ongoing process.

Recalling the events of the June 18, 2001 agitation against extension of ceasefire to Manipur, UCM said compromising the interest of the State people would provoke public outcry and force them to sever links with Indian mainland.
