Re-polling was held in seven polling stations in the Autonomous District Councils (ADC) of Chandel and Sadar Hills in Manipur with over 90% voters turned out in all the polling stations.
In Chandel district, re-polling was carried out at the 5/5 polling station of Khabam Khullen Primary School with 98.98% voters cast their votes.
In Sadar Hills constituencies, re-polls were carried out at the polling station 16/1-Malkhom UJB School with 98.6%, 16/2 Molkhom UJB-93.27%, Yangoi UJB-99.2%, Waithou Chiru LP School-98.5, Salam Vaiphei UJB School-96.4 and at the polling station of Island UJB School, no one came up to cast votes.
Meanwhile, for the second phase elections of the remaining three Autonomous District Councils, tight security measurement has been taken up in all the polling stations in view of the protest against the elections under District Councils Act of 2008 and amid bandh imposed by different organizations.
Three different bodies have called total bandh in three hill districts of Tamenglong, Ukhrul and Senapati in Manipur for various reasons.
All the three hill districts are scheduled for the second phase Autonomous District Councils (ADC) elections on June 2 .
In Tamenglong district, the Zeliangrong Students Union Manipur (ZSUM) will start its total bandh in the district from this midnight till June 6 midnight.
The Tangkhul Naga Frontal Organisations (TNFO) already announced to impose 72 hours 'total bandh' in Ukhrul district beginning from May 31 midnight.
The Senapati District Students' Association (SDSA) called a 48 hours total bandh in Senapati district from midnight of May 31 up to June 2 midnight.
