A four member BJP parliamentary team arrived at imphal today to assess prevailing situation arising out of the indefinite economic blockade imposed by ANSAM on the two national highways.
The BJP delegates who were accompanied by the State unit president Th Chaoba from new Delhi include the party�s national vice president Thawarchand Gehlot, secretary SS Ahluwalia, Kirpal parmar and Laxman Singh.
Soon after arrival at imphal Airport, Ahluwalia stated that the BJP Parliamentarians, during their stay in the state, would assess the grievances besetting the general public due to the prolonged imposition of the blockade.
Besides placing a detailed report on ground reality of the situation at the ensuing Monsoon session of the Parliament, the Central Government would be apprised of the problems faced by the public for remedial action, added the secretary.
On whom the delegates are scheduled to meet during their stint in the State, he informed that they would call on the Chief Minister and Chief Secretary today itself to discuss all related issues.
Interaction sessions would also be held with representatives of various section of the society including leaders of Senapati, Sadar hills, Tamenglong and Ukhrul districts as well as the party�s State leaders in order to understand the core issue and study ways to end the impasse, Ahluwalia said.
On the stand of BJP on current impasse, he said that BJP upholds the integrity of India and informed of State BJP leaders constantly keeping its Central leaders abreast of the situation through personal contact as well as by submitting various memoranda culminating in the tour.
