Imphal, July 23: THE JOINT Action Committee Against Shifting of SSB/VVF from Manipur has decided to call blockades of national highway's 39 and 53 from midnight of July 27 if the present Assembly Session does not take a decision to stop shifting of SSB/VVF from the state according to a press hand out from the JAC.

The Convenor of the JAC S Panthoi Devi thanked all for the support extended during the 18 hour bandh and appreciated Dr Nimaichand Luwang, O Joy and Salam Ibohal for raising the matter in the House.

It condemned the failure of the government to seriously pursue the matter.

The Chief Minister O Ibobi and others did not think it necessary to take a resolution as suggested by the three MLAs it pointed out.

The government should take the cue from the stands taken by the Arunachal Pradesh and Assam governments it said.

The government should move a resolution demanding that the SSB/VVF should not be shifted away from the state.
