Tiken keeps faith on PA Sangma's leadership

Imphal, March 11: Despite the verdict of the Election Commission on NCP issue going in favor of the group led by Sharad Pawar, efforts are being made for registering a new political party called People's Nationalist Party (PNP) under the leadership of PA Sangma, former NCP State unit president S Tiken has informed.

Tiken claimed that majority of the former members of NCP Manipur unit still have their fate under the leadership of Sangma and are strongly behind the formation of People's Nationalist Party (PNP).

Sangma have also communicated from Delhi that Election Commission would allow the registration under certain condition even if the scheduled of the Lok Sabha election had already been announced, Tiken added.

Tiken further informed that even after its registration, PNP would be contesting in the forthcoming Lok Sabha election as an independent.

Election Commission would be requested for giving an independent status before issuance of election notification of the party.

On asked whether PNP would be contesting in the forthcoming Lok Sabha election from Manipur after its registration, Tiken replied that already 3/4 persons, have expressed willingness for contesting in the election from the Outer Parliamentary Constituency but none has applied for the Inner seat so far.
