Cabinet ministers of the SPF government today decided to go a team of three ministers to Senapati and meet leaders of the agitating UNC and ANSAM and hold talks to settle the impasse with the government.
The decision was taken in the meeting held after the Cabinet meeting discussing on various government agendas concluded this evening, an official source said adding that the team of three ministers is likely to proceed to Senapati on August 7 next.
The ministerial will comprise Tribal Development Minister, DD Thaisii, IFCD N Biren and PHED minister, TN Haokip and hold talks with the representatives of the UNC and ANSAM with regard to their demands.
Earlier, a Cabinet meeting was convened by Chief Minister, O Ibobi at the Cabinet room of the Chief Minister's Secretariat discussed at length on various agendas of the government including the devolution of power and other related issues relating to the Autonomous District Councils.
The Cabinet reportedly decided to make amendment to two rules framed under article 23 and Article 25 of the Manipur (Hill Area) District Councils Act, 2008 framed of the ADC Act, the source said.
The rule under Article 23 deals with the formation of financial committee of the Autonomous District Councils which would be formed by the elected members.
The Cabinet approved to make amendment the rule as to nominate the seven members of the committee by the chairman of each ADC.
The Cabinet also approved pay structures of the chairman, councilors and staffs of the ADCs.
As per the approved pay structures,.chairman of ADC will enjoy a pay of Rs 12,000 per month with Rs 2500 as house rent allowance while that of vice-chairman of the ADC will be Rs 11,000 per month with Rs 1500 as house rent allowance.
Each councilor will get a pay of Rs 9000 per month with house rent allowance of Rs 1500 a month.
Other agendas discussed and approved by the Cabinet include appointment of various vacant posts of some departments through the Manipur Public Service Commission.
The posts to be recruited include 19 MCS grade-II, 25 MPS grade-II, 23 MFS grade-III, 25 MSS grade-V, 33 OSD and three EO.
