Charenamai's disqualification demanded

Imphal, April 27: Levelling charges of violating the Election rules, Dominic Loli Adanee, BJP's candidate for the Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency has submit ted a representation to the Election Commission of India through the CEO, Manipur demanding disqualification of Independent candidate Mani Charenamai.

Disclosing this in a statement today, National secretary of BJP and former party's State unit president Meinam Bhorot Singh alleged that Mani Charenamai had indulged in widespread intimidation, kidnapping and physical assault on BJP workers by taking the help of armed miscreants.

Charenamai had also vandalized BJP flags, symbols and large posters of Prime Minister and other Central leader, besides campaigning openly on religious and communal line, Bhorot charges, maintaining that the above charges are more than sufficient for disqualifying Charenamai.

The copy of the representation submitted by Adanee to the Election Commission informed that the BJP workers campaigning for him were stooped by armed cadres of NSCN (I-M) at a place between Lamlaba and Pallong villages, about 15 kms from Tamei sub-divisions headquarters on April 12 at the behest of Charenamai.
