Normal life in Chandel district remained affected for the second consecutive day today following the 48-hour bandh imposed by the Manipur Tribal JAC Against Election under Unwanted District Council Act, though the bandh had little impact in Ukhrul.
According to information received by the press, all the market places and business establishments in Chandel district remained shut and vehicles stayed off the roads.
Reporting from Ukhrul, our correspondent said that the 48-hour bandh called by the Manipur Tribal JAC against election under unwanted District Council Act had little impact in the district.
Except for the inter-district bus services, which remained off the roads, normal life prevailed in most part of the district.
There is no report of any untoward incident, except for the attack on trucks on NH-39 .
